We were sad to leave Barcelona because we loved it so much, but we were excited to go to Paris. I took French lessons from middle school to college, I always wanted to go to Paris for a visit. I couldn’t wait to finally go, especially with my best friend!
We got to Paris after our morning flight and hopped on the metro. We bought books of t+ tickets which can be used for the metros and buses in Paris. 10 tickets for about 7.5 Euro- it was a great deal! We had to get a separate ticket for the airport metro, but it wasn’t a bad price and it took us right to our neighborhood.

We walked from the metro to our Airbnb. This one was a lot different from the one in Barcelona. It was a 1 bedroom, 1 loft with 1 bathroom. It was small, cramped and not that clean. It was on the 6th floor with a small spiral staircase and the world’s smallest elevator. But none of that mattered because it was right on the street Montorgueil. It was perfect! Close to the metro. Near to lots of restaurants, bars and shopping areas.

We were so excited to be there, it was day one and we decided we would visit some of the main attractions: the Eiffel Tower, the Champs-Élysées, and the Arc de Triomphe. We didn’t buy tickets in advanced, which was a bad idea! We didn’t get to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower, but we enjoyed it from the garden and the perimeter.

After getting all the photos we wanted, we decided today was the day we would get some French crepes. And I was obsessed. SO. DANG. DELICIOUS. We went to “Mamy Crêpe” which was a cute little shop with crepes and coffee. I got Nutella, banana and Chantilly and Denzel got confiture (jam).

We walked around the shops on the Champs-Élysées and took some pictures around the Arc de Triomphe. We all got hungry and the dinner we wanted today was fish and chips, we used Yelp (of course!) and found another cute little place called “Johana’s Fish and Chips“. It was amazing, we all enjoyed it.

A huge difference eating in France was- PRICE. It is SO expensive. But, we were only here for a few days so we made it work.
We spent the rest of the evening at a local bar, “Les Ecuries“! It had a super cool vibe, it was underground and it was huge! We had some wine and listened to the live DJ for a few hours.

We were exhausted so went to get some good sleep. Tomorrow we planned on going to Versailles and the Catacombs of Paris so we definitely needed some rest.
EURO TRIP TIP: check the weather before traveling and be over prepared if the weather is set to be cold. We had to buy mittens and hats for Paris.
Miles walked: 12.1 miles
